The recent actions of the U.S. Congress, especially this Terri Schiavo nonsense, bring to mind some lines from Shakespeare:

Thou goatish milk-livered bum-bailey!
Thou mangled base-court horn-beast!
[Thou] blunt monster with uncounted heads!
[Thou] mad mustachio purple-hued maltworms!
Your means are very slender, and your waste is great.
There's no more faith in thee than in a stewed prune.
Thy sin's not accidental, but a trade.
